Bangladesh is an agricultural country. About 75% of the people live in rural areas. In rural Bangladesh, 59.84% of people and 10.81% of urban people own agricultural farms. The agricultural sector contributes 19.1% to the national GDP and employs 48.1% of the population. Cultivation of rice, jute, cotton, sugarcane, flowers, and silkworms, garden expansion, fish farming, vegetable cultivation, livestock development, soil fertility, seed development and distribution, etc., are part of the Ministry of Agriculture and related departments.

Farmers in Bangladesh generally follow traditional farming methods. Most still rely on plows, ladders, and cattle for production and processing. However, many have adopted modern agricultural technology, resulting in increased yields. Besides rice and jute, wheat, tea, sugarcane, potatoes, and vegetables are significantly produced.

Good seeds yield good crops — certified seeds are certainly the best.
